This course discusses the current societal responses to people and organizations that violate criminal codes; police, courts, juries, prosecutors, defense, and correctional agencies. It includes the standards and methods used to respond to crime and criminal offenders.
This is a course designed for you to learn correctional process as applied in a community setting. The course focuses on innovative community-based strategies for dealing with the offender as well as on the processes of probation and parole.
This course analyzes ethical and legal issues confronting leaders in adult and juvenile correctional agencies. It evaluates statutory law, case decisions, and administrative promulgations from constitutional and socio-legal standpoints.
This course discusses qualitative and quantitative concepts and procedures to manage, understand, and effectively consume program evaluation and statistically based research. It involves reading, understanding and accurately interpreting evaluation-based research material and governmentally produced research is emphasized.
This course explores the advanced concepts in social construction of issues in corrections, prisons, crime in culture with empirical realities of these issues. It will include an examination of problems, issues, and trends facing leaders in corrections and juvenile justice.
