The Aerospace Engineering program at Southeastern Michigan University is dedicated to preparing students for careers in the aerospace industry. Students delve into the principles of aerodynamics, spacecraft design, and aerospace technology. They gain the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the development of aircraft and spacecraft, as well as innovations in the field of aerospace engineering.
The College of Engineering is designed to establish a strong foundation in engineering fundamentals and technical proficiency. Students start by building a deep understanding of core engineering disciplines and gain hands-on experience in problem-solving and innovation. This technical base prepares students for a successful career in the dynamic field of engineering.
Beyond the classroom, our College of Engineering places a significant emphasis on real-world applications and industry partnerships. Students have opportunities to work on engineering projects, collaborate with engineering firms, and engage in research with cutting-edge technology. These experiences not only enhance their practical engineering skills but also provide valuable insights into the industry.
The College of Engineering at Southeastern Michigan University is committed to addressing global engineering challenges and fostering international collaborations. Our curriculum explores international engineering practices and encourages students to engage in projects with global impact. Additionally, we offer study abroad programs and collaborate with engineers from around the world, enabling students to gain a global perspective on engineering.
Engineering ethics examines and sets the obligations by engineers to society, to their clients, and to the profession. As a scholarly discipline, it is closely related to subjects such as the philosophy of science, the philosophy of engineering, and the ethics of technology.
Latest developments in engineering discusses about the latest trends in engineering which keep on adding new subjects and new versions of old subjects and techniques.
This course covers the basic methods for obtaining numerical solutions with a digital computer. Included are methods for the solution of algebraic and transcendental equations, simultaneous linear equations, ordinary and partial differential equations, and curve fitting techniques. The methods are compared with respect to computational efficiency and accuracy.
This course offers a comprehensive yet practical exploration of basic electrical and electronic concepts, hands-on applications, and troubleshooting. The course focuses on fundamental principles and their applications to solving real circuit analysis problems, and devotes six chapters to examining electronic devices.
This course serves as an introduction to engineering management. Topics include Introduction, Planning, Organizing, Financial Accounting And Analysis, Marketing Management, Engineering Management In The New Millennium, Ethics In Engineering/Business Management and Globalization.
This course covers in a progressive fashion a number of analysis tools and design techniques directly applicable to nonlinear control problems in high performance systems (in aerospace, robotics and automotive areas).
This course is a self-contained, integrated introduction to the performance aspects of flight - how to get into space, how to get around in space, and how to return to Earth or land on another planet (as opposed to specialized areas of life support, guidance and control, or communications).
This course aims to develop the necessary ideas that enable you to understand some advanced concepts in aerodynamics. The course will cover the aerodynamic effects that constrain an aircraft design.
This course features new running applications and integration of MATLAB, the most widely used software in controls. Coverage of root locus design and the Fourier transform have also been increased.
Spanning the entire range of viscous fluid flows of engineering interest, from low-speed to hypersonic flows, this course introduces and analyzes turbulent flows, the physics of turbulent shear flows, and turbulence models.
